EP Wealth Acquires Personal Financial Consultants


Acquisition adds six professionals and strengthens EP Wealth’s presence in the greater San Francisco region


TORRANCE, Calif. – Aug. [21], 2019 EP Wealth Advisors, LLC (“EP Wealth”), a leading independent registered investment adviser that specializes in client-centric financial planning and investment management services, has announced its acquisition of Personal Financial Consultants, Inc. (“Personal Financial”). The acquisition expands EP Wealth’s Lafayette, Calif. office and bolsters the firm’s presence in the San Francisco Bay area.


Personal Financial is an independent fee-only financial planning and investment management firm based in Lafayette, Calif. Founded in 1985 by Loren Kayfetz, CFP®, MSFA, ChFC, CLU, Personal Financial specializes in designing holistic, comprehensive and personalized financial plans for individuals and families. Kayfetz and partner Jonathan Spector, CFP®, MS, will each assume the role of Vice President and Wealth Advisor at EP Wealth,and all other employees of Personal Financial will also join EP Wealth.

This is EP Wealth’s third acquisition of 2019. Earlier this year, the firm acquired Conlon Dart Wealth Management in Seattle and Pathlight Investors in Phoenix, marking the fourth and fifth regional expansions for the California-based firm. In 2018, the firm acquired Rampart Wealth Advisors of Greenwood Village, Colo., Donnelly Wealth Advisors of San Diego, Caves & Associates, Inc. of Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Millie Capital Management of Walnut Creek, Calif.

The acquisition closed August 19, 2019 and will increase EP Wealth’s assets under management by more than $200 million. Financial and legal terms of the deal will not be disclosed.
