TORRANCE, Calif. - Oct. 9, 2018 - EP Wealth Advisors, LLC (“EP Wealth”), a leading independent registered investment adviser (“RIA”) that specializes in client-centric financial planning and investment management services, today announced its acquisition of Rampart Wealth Advisors (“Rampart”), which will bolster EP Wealth’s presence in the Denver area.

Based outside of Denver in Greenwood Village, Colo., Rampart is a collaborative wealth management and financial planning firm born from a merger between David B. Heinz, CFP® and Nicholas L. Hatfield, CFP®. The firm boasts a combined six decades of experience of bringing clients high-quality service with a focus on helping them meet their financial goals. Heinz and Hatfield will both serve as Vice President and Wealth Advisor at EP Wealth.

"We took great care in making this decision to partner with EP Wealth, as our focus has always been on providing our clients with the highest quality experience,” said Heinz. “EP Wealth mirrors our culture and commitment to clients, and through this combination, we are able to establish a long-term legacy and continue to provide clients with the best possible financial advice.”

“EP Wealth is focused on pursuing partnerships that will allow us to expand our capabilities and resources to improve the client experience, and we are excited to bring Rampart’s talent to our Denver office,” said Patrick Goshtigian, CFA, President and CEO of EP Wealth. “Our partnership with Rampart gives us the opportunity to help more clients in the Denver area, and we’re looking forward to doing so with a firm that aligns with our client-centric philosophy.”

Hatfield also commented: “As our firm grew, we devoted more time to administrative and business tasks, but we quickly realized we needed back office support so we could spend more time with our clients. EP Wealth’s extensive resources provide the support we need, and our partnership will allow us to refocus our efforts on what’s important: helping clients reach their financial life goals.”

This is EP Wealth’s fourth acquisition in 2018. The firm acquired Caves & Associates, Inc. of Manhattan Beach, Calif., Donnelly Wealth Advisors of San Diego, Calif. and Millie Capital Management of Walnut Creek, Calif. earlier this year. Today’s transaction marks EP Wealth’s fourth acquisition since partnering with Wealth Partners Capital Group (“WPCG”), a financial services holding company, in July 2017.

The $118 million AUM acquisition closed on October 5, 2018 and will enhance the firm’s comprehensive financial planning and investment management expertise.  Financial and legal terms of the deal will not be disclosed.
